The One Phone Call You Can Make That Will Actually Save Kratom
(#IAMKRATOM)

update
The deadline for calling (re: Pocan/Salmon Dear Colleague Save Kratom Letter, described below) has been extend until Friday - September 23 2016)

The fight to keep Kratom legal is going BETTER than expected.

Your efforts and testimonials, the White House March have gotten mainstream media attention. That media attention has already led to Congressional consideration.

I don't have a super huge platform but I've done a nationally syndicated radio show, spoke to the Pennsylvania Lawyer magazine and will have a full day discussion with New York Times on Friday.

It's working.

We have made enormous progress in the past 3 weeks.

Legal, lobbyists, the PR firm and every vendor I've spoken to agree that we are ahead of schedule and have a real chance of winning.

Monday (September 19) and Tuesday (September 20) will likely decide the outcome.

K-DAY is here.

K DAY

What Happened Last Week That May Keep Kratom Legal?
(Pocan/Salmon Dear Colleague Letter)

Last Friday, Congressmen Mark Pocan (Democrat - Wisconsin) and Matt Salmon (Republican - Arizona), drafted a Congressional "Dear Colleague" letter that will effectively STOP the September 30 ban.

If enough Congressmen add their name to the letter, the Kratom ban will likely be stopped.

Every effort in the past 3 weeks, from the grassroots/social media PR, White House March, letters, email and phone calls) has been largely dedicating to get this letter.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE THAT WE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS.

There may be no tomorrow.

The One Phone Call That Will Save Kratom

On Monday 9/19 (or Tuesday, 9/20), you can help save Kratom.

This is all you need to do.

1) Look up your Congressman -

http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/?mc_cid=80c58c3f63&mc_eid=58bf48a323
(feel free to send them an email today to support the 'Pocan/Salmon Dear Colleague' letter)

2) On Monday (latest Tuesday) call this number and ask to be connected to your Congressman's office.

Call before 4:30PM EST.

202 224 3121

3) Tell them that you are a responsible adult who uses Kratom and you need your Congressman to sign the "POCAN/SALMON DEAR COLLEAGUE LETTER".

Make sure that the intern/secretary takes down the name "POCAN/SALMON DEAR COLLEAGUE LETTER".

Don't hang up until you know 100% that you message will be passed along.

If you don't get a human on the phone - please call back.

You are encouraged to tell your Kratom story, White House Petition (>130,000 signees) discuss the media attention, talk about the proposed Kratom and who it will harm.

But the MOST IMPORTANT thing is telling them to sign the "POCAN/SALMON DEAR COLLEAGUE LETTER".

If you have phone anxiety, watch this video.

Here is an extended discussion of the importance of the phone call and our recent successes -

Thumbnail actually says "... want the Kratom ban STOPPED", gets cut off on embeds.

This is our chance to WIN.

Update (9/19) - Here is my Call to Congress

Nobody was sure if we'd actually get this chance.

If you call in or plan to, tell me your state below (for future media reference).

Thank you - your friend,

~ Chris

I'm asking for your help in maintaining my access to this all natural leaf, from the mitragena speciosa tree, which has allowed me to ditch five dangerous prescription drugs. This leaf, kratom, is related to coffee. It is NOT a chemically altered pharmaceutical. Kratom allows me to SAFELY lead a productivelife as a wife to my Army combat veteran husband, as well as one of mother to my four sons. Before finding kratom nearly three years ago, I suffered from the fog inducing side effects from Prozac, Seroquel, Amlodipine, klonopin and Ultram. These helped some of my health conditions, but not without terrible side effects. I suffer from severe hypertension, fibromyalgia, anxiety & post traumatic stress disorder, and I have three bulging discs in my spine. Kratom has lowered my blood pressure from 200+/160+, to a far less dangerous 140/80, all without the side effects of Amlodipine. As well, my pain is manageable, and with kratom daily, I'm active, I'm capable of fully engaging in my children's lives without wincing with every step I take. In these almost three years, I've not developed a tolerance to kratom, nor have i needed to take even more for the leaf to work on my pain and blood pressure. That's NOT true of my former prescriptions, all of which eventually required a dosage increase. I'm begging everyone with the power to STOP the ensuing scheduling of kratom as a schedule 1 substance, which is a devastating wrong that thousands will suffer and many will die as a direct result, to listen to our voices, speak up for our rights, and PREVENT this travesty. Thank you.

Although I don't personally use Kratom anymore due to stomach issues, I know many people who have/do use it with great success. People who no longer wish to use prescription narcotics as pain control. People who are trying, or have succeeded in getting off street drugs, and people who take it for psychiatric issues. Tens of thousands of people who use Kratom and have taken their lives back and are happy and pain free because of a simple tree.
The DEA's proposed ban of Kratom will be detrimental to many, many people. Those people who depend on Kratom now will be forced to return to pharmaceuticals and even street drugs to address their pain and psychiatric issues. The DEA is using, as it's rationale, faulty reports and inaccurate data.
We, as adults with sound and logical minds, must stop this arbitrary banning of a substance that has been used for millennia with no problems. We must make the DEA understand that their logic is faulty and needs to be reigned in.
I Take solace in the face that my Congressman, Matt Salmon has authored a letter that may help in stopping this ban.
