What You Can Do to Help Keep Kratom Legal
(If You Have No Time or Money)
Whether you are a Kratom enthusiast or not, I encourage you to read this.
This issue is ultimately about 'freedom' and the right to live your life as you please.
As many of you know, on August 30th 2016, the DEA released a statement of intent that seeks to make the safe, natural botanical 'Kratom' (Mitragyna Speciosa) a Schedule I controlled substance on September 30th 2016.
This measure will classify Kratom as an illegal drug 'with no medical or therapeutic benefits' subject to the same penalties of heroin and LSD.
As a schedule I, it is nearly impossible for academic and independent research institutions to study the compound.
I have used Kratom everyday of my life, 5 to 6 times a day, for the past 6 years.
During that time, I built 4 very successful businesses, introduced over 60,000 people (conservative figure) to this compound and avoided addictive prescription medications that I would otherwise be dependent on for relief of numerous sports injuries.
Kratom has allowed me to work enthusiastically for 15+ hours a day to build one of the most popular men's self-improvement communities that has helped hundred of thousands of young men from their own battles with depression and anxiety.
As I told our readers when I introduced Kratom in 2014 -
Kratom is my #1 recommendation because it legitimately has the potential to change your life.
It doesn't work for everyone, but some people will literally get their lives back.
I am not the face of Kratom however.
I am not the one who will commit suicide when it is banned.
There so many more that absolutely depend on this versatile over-the-counter herb just to live a functional life.
This is the FACE OF KRATOM
* we have THOUSANDS of testimonials, I can't post them all.
Alcoholics who used Kratom to stop drinking -
Opiate and heroin addicts who have successfully used Kratom to stay away from hardcore drugs -
Disabled veterans who will become criminals or rewarded with a life of chronic pain, PTSD, anxiety and daily thoughts of suicide -
THIS is the face Kratom.
For them, Kratom is the difference between LIFE and NO LIFE.
Tragically, for some, Kratom is the difference between LIFE and DEATH.
How Can I Help Stop the Kratom Ban?
I could go on and on about the benefits of Kratom (in terms of 'risk:reward' Kratom truly is one of the best legal options out there) but time is of the essence.
If you want to help, you need to do this, many of these suggestions do not require you to spend a dime -
1. Sign the White House Petition (NOW)
General petitions are overrated, but this one matters.
The White House is required to respond if we get 100,000 signatures.
2. Join this Facebook Group (NOW)
Join this non-profit Facebook group.
It is a private group, so tell them that Chris Deoudes or Happy Hippo sent you.
We just donated $10,000 to them (a joint fund with the Botanical Legal Defense) and are going to raise money for them.
They will have ALL the relevant news, updated and course of action for you.
3. Make One #IAMKRATOM YouTube Video Explaining How Kratom Has Benefited Your Life (REALLY SOON)
DO NOT WAIT TO DO THIS.
YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO WAIT.
MAKE ONE VIDEO ON YOUR CELL PHONE.
A DECENT VIDEO TODAY IS BETTER THAN A PERFECT VIDEO TOMORROW.
If just 2% of people of did this, we would have 1000s of videos to share.
Don't use a script, don't edit your video, don't even think hard about it.
JUST DO IT.
Get our attention and we will get them around the Internet.
Post your video on social media (any Kratom advocacy page), tweet it at me or @TheKratomAssn.
update: Well over 100 people have answered this call! Keep them coming!
4. Make a Call To Karen B. DeSalvo; 202-690-7694
Karen, at this point in time, is probably the single most influential person on the decision to outlaw Kratom.
Karen B. DeSalvo - she will specifically listen in the DEA's intent to file form as someone whose opinion they will take into consideration: Contact the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (ASH).
Web Site: http://www.hhs.gov/ash
Many people have called already and said it wasn't scary at all.
THEY ARE EXPECTING OUR CALLS!
Just give your story and don't get into political stuff - this is not a political issue.
It is a freedom issue.
5. Write a Letter About How Kratom Has Benefited Your Life and Submit It To These Places (THIS WEEK)
Unlike the others, this one will take you more than 15 minutes.
Set aside some time, clear your mind and draft a short letter from the heart.
Keep it short and personal, address these points -
- Your name, age and location. (1 line)
- Why you are writing the letter (1 line)
'I am writing to oppose the DEA's Mitragynine and 7-Hydroxymitragynine, which would make Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa), a schedule 1 controlled substance with no medicinal value.'
- How you found Kratom. (1-2 lines)
- How Kratom has benefited your life and how long you have used it. (4-5 lines)
- What life without Kratom will be like for you. (4-5 lines)
- Conclusion: Ask the [specific person] to contact the DEA and insist that the Kratom ban be suspended. (1 line)
A DECENT LETTER TODAY IS BETTER THAN A PERFECT LETTER TOMORROW.
You can always revise your letter if you think of something.
Send your letter to these places -
#1 The Department of Justice
#2 Karen B. DeSalvo (Assistant Secretary of Health)
#3 Your Congress Representative in Your State
#4 Your Senators in Your State
You can call all of these places as well just get your letters going first.
6. Join Us In Front Of the White House on September 13
If you are a metro-area local (or in New York or Philadelphia, bus service will be provided), please consider attending the #SaveKratom march on Washington.
I may or may not be there, I am trying to get a meeting with a powerful lobbyist in DC on that same day.
I will have to be wherever most benefits the fight against this ban.
Further Reference (We Support These)
We will have a post about "What You Can Do to Keep Kratom Legal (If You DO Have Money & Time)" very soon.
Thank you for your support!
We were successful in the vast majority of states in 2016 to prevent legislation that would have criminalized Kratom and intend to be successful at the national level.
